Welcome to Abraham Lincoln Elementary School PTO
Dear Lincoln Elementary School Families: As we embark upon the summer months, I would like to acknowledge all of the efforts put forth by our students, staff and parent community during the final few months of the school year.  I arrived at Lincoln at the end of March, and I was immediately impressed by the graciousness of the staff and the truly welcoming sentiments of the students.  It was immediately evident to me that everyone in the community cared deeply about their school. As the days rolled on I witnessed the staff at Lincoln come together to implement a student-centered schedule to efficiently manage the PSSAs, as well as to educate our students on the school district’s new procedures regarding crisis response (A.L.i.C.E).  Our staff designed and implemented classroom activities and assemblies, and successfully conducted two drills, in order to familiarize our students with the new procedures in an effective yet responsible manner.  Various staff members contributed to the organization of special events that provided our students with meaningful experiences, such as Battle of the Books, the Accelerated Reader Carnival, Author’s Day, Mother’s Day Tea, and the Lincoln Loggers.  Most importantly, I’m proud of the daily commitment to student success and well-being that has been readily evident. Our parent community, led by the efforts of the PTO, contributed significantly to Lincoln’s positive school culture through the conduction of Special Persons Breakfasts, the chaperoning of grade level field trips, and the organization of year-end celebrations such as Field Day and the Fourth Grade Party.  Your contributions to the overall health of the school cannot be understated, and we appreciate your continued involvement.  After serving at a variety of grade levels in Bethel Park, I am convinced of the importance of our work at the elementary school to prepare our students for the challenges they will face in the future.  That includes not only academic pursuits, but also the development of social and emotional capacities to navigate our increasingly complex world.  I aim to continue to partner with you and our staff to insure that Lincoln provides a supportive and caring environment in which our students can focus on their learning and take pride in their achievements. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable summer.   Sincerely, Jay P. Johnson Principal
