Abraham Lincoln Elementary SchoolWELCOME TO THE 2016-2017 SCHOOL YEAR!On behalf of our PTO (Parent Teacher Organization), we would like to welcome all new and returning students and their families to Lincoln! Lincoln is a very special place, as many of you know or will soon find out. We are most fortunate to have a wonderful principal like Mr. Johnson, and an outstanding team of teachers and staff that truly care and support our children in their quest for knowledge.The goal of the Lincoln PTO is to provide each child who attends our school with educational as well as fun opportunities that will enhance their learning experience. A strong support and communication system between parents and teachers is important in order to give students a good education experience. The PTO funds programs such as field trips, assemblies, class parties, and many other events and opportunities for students. In the coming weeks and throughout the year you will have many opportunities to hep and support the Lincoln PTO to raise the necessary funds for student activities. There are many ways to get involved in your child’s school. In this packet you will find important information and materials to get you started. Here are some ways to support the PTO. 1.Every family is encouraged to become a member of the PTO for $10 per family;2.Available Direct Donation options;3.Fundraisers, such as Yankee Candle, Sarris Candy and the Apparel Sale;4.Other fundraising opportunities during the year include collecting “Box Tops”, registering your Giant Eagle Advantage Card, Target Red Card, Shop n Save card and Red Robin card. 5.The MOST IMPORTANT way to get involved is to VOLUNTEER! You can sign up as a Committee Chairperson or volunteer to help with a committee. Program by tracking Shop N’ Save purchases throughout the school year to earn a free assembly for our students through either the Carnegie Science Center or the PPG Zoo and Aquarium. We are asking all families to link their PERKS card to Lincoln Elementary School (ID# 241) by visiting the website at http://shopnsavefood.com/SEED and entering their card number to start earning for this year’s free assembly for our students. Last year Abraham Lincoln Elementary School received around $900 from Apples for students. Let's make it $1,000.00 this year (or more)!
